(Updated August 17, 2026)

When the Los Angeles Dodgers swept the National League Championship Series, Marbled LA had less than 48 hours to deliver last-minute catering for a fast-moving production crew at Dodger Stadium, with no guarantee the games would even be played in LA until the series was already decided.

It was also the first year Dodger Stadium’s production team was allowed to bring in an outside caterer instead of the venue’s in-house provider. Marbled LA used the moment to prove exactly what it does best: confirming availability, locking in logistics, and delivering full buffet service without missing a beat, on a two-day turnaround.

The Challenge

Playoff baseball comes with one major variable: nothing is guaranteed.

For the NLCS, there were several unknowns right up until the final moments:

  • Whether the Dodgers would advance at all
  • Which teams would face off in the postseason
  • Where the series would begin
  • And how many games would ultimately be played in Los Angeles

In this case, the Dodgers swept the series, resulting in just two days of catering in LA.

That left Marbled with less than 48 hours to:

  • Confirm staffing
  • Finalize menus
  • Source ingredients
  • Prepare buffet-style meals for a fluctuating number of guests
  • Accommodate a wide range of dietary needs

Adding another layer of complexity, this was the first year the production team was allowed to use an outside caterer, opting out of the stadium’s in-house food provider.

Our Approach

Marbled was built for moments like this.

As soon as the call came in, our team responded immediately — confirming availability, locking in logistics, and moving forward without hesitation. With fluctuating headcounts and multiple companies eating together, we planned an all-buffet service that allowed for flexibility, speed, and consistent quality.

Menu selection was entrusted to the Marbled team based on their experience of::

  • Serving large groups efficiently
  • Offering variety without slowing service
  • Clearly labeling dietary accommodations (e.g. gluten-free, vegan)
  • Keeping crews energized during long production day

Execution On-Site: Flexibility Behind the Scenes

With headcounts changing and timelines shifting, Marbled stayed nimble. Buffet stations were replenished quickly, dietary needs were clearly communicated, and meals were served on schedule to keep crews moving between games and production demands.

Despite the short notice and compressed LA schedule, service ran smoothly from start to finish.

The Results: Fresh and Tasty Food

For the production team, the biggest win was simple: guests having food they truly enjoyed.

After years of relying on venue-provided catering, the crew appreciated having a fresh, reliable alternative — one that understood the pace, pressure, and unpredictability of postseason sports production.

For Marbled, this NLCS activation reinforced exactly what we do best:

  • Rapid response catering
  • Large-scale, high-pressure execution
  • Flexible menus for diverse teams
  • Seamless service, even when plans change at the last minute

And most importantly, it positioned Marbled as a trusted partner as the Dodgers moved on to the World Series — and ultimately, another championship. For production teams operating under playoff-level uncertainty, that kind of last-minute readiness is exactly what turns a single booking into a lasting relationship
